IEEE introduced a re-designed Web site on 31 March, featuring an improved look and feel that better reflects the dynamic IEEE brand, and an improved navigation that enables users to find information more quickly and easily.  The re-design process included the collection of data from extensive audience research and user testing with the goal of ensuring optimal Web usability.  In the new site design, content for volunteers is accessible in two primary ways, through the “Resources for” menus in the upper right navigation on key landing pages including the IEEE home page, and through contextual links within appropriate site sections.  These changes are the first-step toward improving the online experience for volunteers and toward leveraging the suggestions and feedback shared by IEEE volunteers during a research study conducted in 2009.  Site evaluations and updates will be ongoing over the next year and beyond.
